For millennia we have incorporated timber products into our daily lives from the structure we live in to the bowl we eat from. Traditionally a furniture maker needed an understanding of engineering, architecture and joinery. These techniques coupled with a grasp of proportions enabled them in the design and construction of buildings, furniture or architectural joinery. A great deal of skill is needed to produce a hand crafted item. I have designed and built a variety of architectural pieces, from windows and doors to staircases, garden structures like conservatories and summerhouses to the odd caravan even a coffin. |
